Meet the Mendez Family

Welcome to the Ticky Tacky project! Sam and I have been married seven years and just bought our first house and it needs WORK. We will be renovating our new home from top to bottom, inside and out...while we live in it and documenting our experience one project at a time. Oh and did I mention we both work full time? Oh and did I mention.....we are both in school completing our degrees during this time? Thank God we don't have any kids.....but we do have two SUPER needy dogs who will surely be an obstacle in our DIY project!!

Meet Sam:

Sam works full time at a local high school enforcing mediatory attendance policies and he also coaches football. Sam is currently completing his Bachelor's Degree in Business, he will graduate in June 2012. Before working in education, Sam worked for five years inspecting commercial air-conditioning units. Sam's home improvement skills will be invaluable as he as done everything from carpeting, roofing, electric, tiling, painting, to carpentry. He is known for his calm, logical personality which he will need during this project.

Meet Sara:

Sara works full time at the same high school as Sam as the Registrar, which involves school record keeping and curriculum. Before working in education Sara worked for five years in the medical/nursing field. Sara holds a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and will start her Master's Degree program in Curriculum Administration in Sept 2011. In her spare time she runs a book-review blog and spends much of her time reading and critiquing books. Sara's DIY skills are limited. She's done lots and lots of painting but nothing 'heavy duty'. She is known to be temperamental and witty but also quite the opposite of Sam....so needless to say she will be relying on Sam's skills and personality to get her through the DIY project.

Meet Sugar Bear AKA 'Sugs':

Sugs is a very neurotic pom-huahua (pomeranian chihuahua mix). She likes barking, playing with her ball, and loving her bo-bo.  She is very attached to her 'mama' and gets nervous when she sees moving boxes or luggage. She is always trailing after someone wanting to play or wanting someone to pay attention to her.

Meet Sasha:
She is 'daddy's girl' through and through. She loves her daddy and hates her mama....she hates loud noises and is one big BABY. She will do anything for food and likes to be outside and 'protect' or 'explore' the yard. She gets nervous when she hears loud noises or if people are cleaning.
